World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.

For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that ends in % will gain 3damage to attack each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level increases.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be put into weapons, armor, and trinkets to give a stat bonus or extra effect while they're in use. They can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors trading, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be placed in equipment with a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used once; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a special type of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or completing a quest in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they require to achieve the same level using standard methods.

A 'boost' upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of the weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player completes the cutscene and defeats the Crazed Mechanical. They can be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear or by buying them from the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals each.

The player is able to have a maximum of five boost upgrades at a time; each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-level version of the item will drop at the time of the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear, even when they're not sure what can be improved upon the reset.

The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break if the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powders are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. Cash shop items can be used to reduce or eliminate the possibility of failure. Certain upgrades also provide an additional bonus when they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets that are specifically designed for. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in their radius, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in a variety of ways, and we recommend getting them up to level 15 whenever you can.

In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded up to level 15 and give a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however Glyphs are the one upgrade component that can be removed and replaced without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and rebuilt by using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it from your inventory. You can decide to replace it with another Glyph of the same rank or a higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of an Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt could drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph will grant a distinct bonus that will boost a particular set of stat nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph it could be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to place Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids for instance should position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their primary damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components inside them. This is often referred to as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be upgraded up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each item level requires various components, Item Upgrader and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by the completion of Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be found in the upgrade tab of a crafting table or bought from NPCs. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and when enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item level upgrade.

When the player upgrade an item it will be replaced by an item that is new. The same armor will be upgraded to the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will come with a bonus of its own. This could be a drawback since the item may be more expensive even if you don't need it.

If the player has enough tokens, they can roll the upgrade of their item. This causes the item to be traded for a new one, Item Upgrader with a level 1 base and a totally different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful, but shouldn't be done often as it can be a waste of resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled multiple times to increase their value, allowing the player to customize their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives an increase in power if the player repeatedly enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded several times by increasing the maximum roll every time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its value without being upgraded.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currency to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the base damage as well as the required strength and dexterity to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, with the exception for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an object it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will cause the item to revert to its initial condition, which requires the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum number of upgrades.

If an item is not upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will reset to zero. The item also loses any bonuses it earned, such as crit chance attack damage, other effects (such as increased heal over time or reloading speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied in order from lowest to highest. This means that the weapon that is upgraded gains a crit chance increase, the increase will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute called Slots has been added to the item's definition and the value is recomputed every time an upgrade is applied.

The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a standard equipment item upgrader could have five upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero quality items will have the lowest cost for each additional upgrade.

Premium items have different requirements for upgrading than standard gear--for instance, they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and erons. However, players must visit the NPC [ArmorBoboko in Central Flarine. Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they wish to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs listed above, each equipment upgrade requires the use of different upgrade ingredients.
