Musical "Xcalibur"

Book by Ivan Menchell

Music by Frank Wildhorn

Lyrics by Robin Lerner

Adapted and directed by Taichi Inaba

I watched the live broadcast of Excalibur.

It was really interesting. I was really moved.

I have the pace of the Arthurian legend in my head, so the differences in the relationships between Arthur and Lancelot, Arthur and Morgan, Merlin and Morgan, etc. are interesting, and while enjoying the different settings, I was drawn in by the attraction of the performers.

There are only talented people, and the music is just great.

All the music is dramatic and enjoyable to listen to, and even though it's the first time I've heard it, it feels familiar, perhaps because it's a Wildhorn-like melody. The chorus of the Cosmos troupe made it even more moving.

I was surprised at how pure and refreshing Arthur's Serika's appearance was. I was already moved by the scene where he pulled out Excalibur.

The eyes of Arthur, which shone with innocence, became gloomy after he was driven by a desire for revenge at the end of the first act... the expression in his eyes is amazing. And I feel more familiar with his appearance in darkness. lol

I was moved by the overlap of the image of a simple young man who faced many hardships, lost his loved ones, and stood as king while carrying everything, and the birth of a new top star.

Guinevere Haruno is dignified, intelligent, and very attractive. Her final choice was good, as she felt like an independent woman. Her calm singing voice was also wonderful.

Lancelot Sakuragi. He looks cool with his beard, he is sexy when he struggles with love, and he has the tolerance to protect Arthur until the end, he is a good man. Sakuragi himself gives off a completely positive impression, but I like roles with a bit of darkness.

Morgan Mashiro. His singing ability, expressiveness and power, which allows him to freely change the tempo from low to high, is simply amazing.

His smile at seeing Lancelot in the wedding scene sent chills down my spine, and his dignified presence and beautiful harmony, which were equal to anyone he sang with, were wonderful.

Wakasho's presence as Merlin was impressive, and I was really curious about how Merlin and Morgan met and how they ended up in that kind of relationship. I'd like to see a spin-off.

I think this every time I watch a live stream or a live broadcast, but I really wanted to see it live. It was a wonderful debut performance, and it has made me even more excited for the Cosmos troupe's future.
