Cyberpunk 2077 Item Upgrading Guide

Item upgrading is a key element to maximize the power of your gear. It lets you add additional stats to the base value of your item.

Each upgrade template comes with a set options that can be configured through the GUI. These options include the upgrading reference and the possibility of upgrading.

Upgrade components

As part of the 2.0 update, the system for upgrading armor and weapons in Cyberpunk has been reworked. Upgrade components are available all over Night City, and the item that you want to upgrade items must have an upgrade slot available. When you choose an item to upgrade, the game will show an overview of what the expected statistics will be after upgrading, along with the required component or material needed. If you don't have the required level or resource to upgrade an item the button will read "Blocked."

The items that can be upgraded include armor and weapons, a few trinkets, and gathering tools. Upgrade slots can be filled on any item with upgrades that give bonus effects or attributes when the equipment is used. These upgrades can be acquired through crafting, bought from a vendor, or looted.

There are two types of upgrade components: universal upgrades and gems. Universal upgrades are similar to gems and can be utilized in any type of equipment.
