1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling, the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. The i3+ is a good option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience but are willing to manually empty the robot cleaner commercial's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots do well cleaning up surface debris from hard floors and carpets, and they are very good at moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates a smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean up efficiently. The i3+ doesn't feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It could get stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO best vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or other items it might come across. Also, keep the dustbin and filter clean to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is empty it will return to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's dust bin and then resumes cleaning where it left off. The battery's life span is approximately an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes three hours to charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model of the flagship line from iRobot, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating. the most important feature of all -- it has an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can control your robot through the app or voice.

In our testing the i7+ performed faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed with the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room and even vacuum a specific area. Connecting the i7+ to these services was easy and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a world of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system traps allergens and releases cleaner air back into your home. The specially designed head utilizes stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to match the task being performed. It swiftly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.

This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100% in 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments as well as an Wand. This is a major improvement over previous Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The main drawback of the V10 is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its claims to run up to 60 minutes are not true. Its flat front makes it possible to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top rated Robot vacuum selections, the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. Because of this, it may get stuck on things like phone cords or low furniture, and it frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower cost of recurring costs and has more advanced automation abilities and is better able to move its own. It also has a larger dustbin and charges faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change the suction power mode by hand and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise that they are one of the top makers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has the most advanced onboard technology to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and more. The app is easy to learn and use, just like other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86% of it. However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding higher-up objects like cords or socks which was a disappointment. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tested and could be a problem for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that is accessible through the app, and you can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. This feature allows you to check in on pets or children when you're away from home. The filter and the dust bin can be washed to make cleanup quick and easy. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with an automatic clean station which helps to keep the robot's bin clear and maximizes suction power.

6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum

The application also allows you to steer the robot manually should you need to. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL however, continued to move across the border, without notifying the high point. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
