A man has died in hospital following a brawl in the food court at Crown Casino.

Emergency services were called to the casino at 12.20am on Sunday after a fight erupted between three men. 

A 29-year-old man from the Melbourne suburb of Mentone was rushed to Alfred Hospital by paramedics after suffering critical head injuries during the brawl.

He died in hospital on Tuesday night.

A homicide squad is investigating the circumstances of the man's death.

A 26-year-old Highton man was arrested and charged by police on Sunday for recklessly causing injury.

He was given bail and is due to appear in Melbourne Magistrates' Court on August 31.
