Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?

It's easy to move around with a light double pushchair, especially if you have children of varying age groups. They are easy to fold, steer and transport up and over steps.

Side-by-Side

Most of the lightweight double stroller double pushchairs we tested were side-by-side models. These are best for children who can sit up without assistance, as they aren't as likely to have compatibility with car seats. The Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and the Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double, are both excellent choices. They have recline that can be adjusted for both seats, a huge canopy, and padded 5-point safety harnesses. They're also easy to move despite their bigger footprint and are perfect for parents who are worried about fitting into doorways.

Side-by-side pushchairs that are lightweight aren't foolproof however -when your children are at the same age or at the same stage, they might be fighting over who rides in which seat. If they're at different heights, a tandem model could be more suitable for them since it lets them face each other.

Tandem

While side-byside models might be more suitable for siblings who are the same age, tandem lightweight double pushchairs have their own charms. Parents also appreciated that it accommodates infant carriers and car seats from multiple brands. This includes those that aren't normally compatible with other double buggies.
