Sony will release the 35mm mirrorless camera, α7R V, on November 25th. The price is around 560,000 yen (tax included). The image sensor is a back-illuminated CMOS sensor measuring 35.7 x 23.8 mm, with the same effective pixel count of about 61 million pixels as the α7R IV. The image processing engine is BIONZXR. Image stabilization has made great progress, with an effective number of steps of up to 8. In addition, it is equipped with an AI processing unit, and real-time recognition AF can recognize subjects such as humans, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes. The AF is a fast hybrid AF with image plane phase difference AF and contrast AF, and the number of phase difference pixels has increased to 693 points. The continuous shooting performance is 10 frames per second, the same as the α7R IV, and the image sensitivity is ISO 100-32000 (ISO 50 and 102400 with extension). It also has focus bracketing and full-time DMF functions. Videos can be recorded in 8K24p (with crop) and 4K60p (without crop). Active mode image stabilization is possible when shooting video. In addition, the heat dissipation structure allows for approximately 30 minutes of recording at 8K24p. The rear monitor is a 4-axis multi-angle LCD monitor with both vari-angle and multi-tilt. It is 3.2 inches and has approximately 2.1 million dots. The EVF is approximately 9.44 million dots, the same as the α1 and α7SIII. It is equipped with a flicker-free shooting function and also has a flicker-free TV adjustment function that automatically adjusts the shutter speed. The recording media is a compatible double slot for CFexpress Type A and SD UHS-II. The power source is NP-FZ100 (Z battery), and approximately 440 shots can be taken when using the EVF. The size and weight are 131.3 x 96.90 x 72.3 mm and 665 grams.
