Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet mess in one time without the need to switch between devices. They can also help save storage space compared to having two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's one of the simplest robots to install that we've tested. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide will have you running in no time. You'll have a a full dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and vacuums well too. The mops spin at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a variety of brushes and attachments and an intuitive app that lets you pick the exact kind of cleaning you'd like to have for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom to itself. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to recognize small obstacles that other models cannot. Its only minor issue is that it tends to smash into walls and other objects at full speed. However, an instant glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing, where it's going, and which obstacles it's avoided.

The docking station has an LCD display that shows when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the dirty water tank. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, using a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. And you can see the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easily understood although we would like to be able to differentiate between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a clean area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the most recent version of the company's flagship robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has an improved suction capacity, allowing it to pick up fine hairs and other debris that other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tried is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it overcome obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they're a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.

It's the most expensive model I've tried, but it also has the most features. Its sleek, angular design is eye catching, and it only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock and a home button to send the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-refilling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. You can replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities which include support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and configure these advanced features. It also has maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's lifespan. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control on this model which is unfortunate considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is an industry leader with innovative features, superior suction power and cutting-edge mopping capabilities. Its innovative design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is among the most powerful choices available. In addition, the X40 is extremely quiet during its operation, with only occasional squeaks of sound when switching modes or when completing self-maintenance tasks.

This is a nice addition that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with the frequent back-and-forth movement.

Unlike other robots, which are limited to one task, the X40 can vacuum and mop at the same time. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple to use and understand, and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to install. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, view floor plans and mapping, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to keep clean and has numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station will automatically empty the dustbin, and clean mop pads before refilling them with fresh cleaning solution and water. It can also tell when the mop pad is filled and notify you when it overflows, thus reducing the need for manual maintenance.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot Vacuum cleaners best is one of the most expensive models available on the market. It has a number of characteristics that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature of its mops, uses two high-speed mop heads to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a maximum suction force of 7,000Pa. This is significantly higher than that of the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and other small dirt particles - as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop mops are cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours that can build up in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature we haven't seen in other robot mop and vacuum models. It could be a great way to keep your home cleaner longer.

There's a wealth of options available which include the ability to schedule cleaning robot mop and vacuum times and adjust a variety of preferences. The L20 Ultra is also one of the most stylish robots we've seen on the market, with metallic and white design that looks elegant and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. The MopExtend feature allows them to extend up to 2mm below the baseboards.
